So it being my first time going to jail I didn’t know anything about crime, the law or my rights. Everyone just sort of assumed I knew what was going on. I did ask a lot of questions and frequently reminded people that I was new, but that didn’t make it through.
So no one told me what bail bonds were all about and of course I couldn’t ‘Google’ it. My family didn’t bother to explain it nor my lawyer because eveyone assumed I knew. And without anyone saying otherwise I was left thinking that ‘bond’ was a type of fine or fee I had to pay.
After over a month in my cell in the solitary section I overheard an inmate ranting about his bondsman and finally got a proper explanation.
Here I am 3 days later outside and temporarily free. Thanks to COVID the courts are all bogged down so It may be 1-2 years before I get a trial.
I think the worst thing now is that my computer is in evidence lockup so I still can’t post a picture of me on my cool celestial mount.
